Easy Peach Crisp

There is nothing better in the summer than a nice fresh, juicy peach. There used to be a man who sat in front of our Rural King and would sell bushels of fresh peaches in the summer, and to me, that was when I always knew Summer was here:) I would often times buy too many from the Peach Man and have to find something to do with the ripe peaches quickly! In that rush to use the peaches, I ran across an amazingly delicious and easy peach crisp recipe! It has become my second favorite thing in the summer. Right after the peach itself;) So, if you’re like me and have too many peaches this time of year, I hope you enjoy this easy peach crisp!

Supplies:

  • peaches to cover 9×13 pan
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 c butter
  • 2 c oats
  • 1 c flour
  • salt
  • cinnamon

β€œYou can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.”

― Dita Von Teese

I found this quote on goodreads and just couldn’t help including it. Because, ain’t that the truth?! We can do so much to please other people (especially when you’re a mom!), but oftentimes you realize that the problem was never you in the first place! Sometimes people just can’t (or won’t) see past your peach fuzz. And that’s there’s loss because they miss all of your goodness;)

Peach Crisp Steps:

  1. Cut a small slit in the bottom of each peach
  2. Place the peaches in boiling water
  3. Boil for 40 seconds or until the skin of the peaches starts to peel back on its own
  4. Place them in cold water and the skins will slide right off!
  5. Slice peaches and layer on bottom of pan
  6. Mix all other ingredients with hands until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle on top of peaches
  8. Bake at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes

This easy peach crisp recipe has become a summer staple at our house. Almost as much as the Peach Man himself has come to symbolize summer, this peach crisp has become a symbol of relaxing nights after a hot summer day. It really is delicious and sssssoooo easy. I hope that your family enjoys it as much as mine has. When you try it for yourself, leave a comment below!:)
