Christmas In July Around the New Fire Pit

“He who has Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.”

~Roy L. Smith

Christmas isn’t just a specific time of the year. It’s a feeling!!! A feeling of love, togetherness, kindness, and joy. The good news is that you don’t have to wait until December 25th to feel those things. We can spread joy throughout the year!!

What better way to spread some joy than in the middle of the hottest time of the year!!! The time of year when many people need to take a break, relax, and cool off!!! Christmas in July!!!

Speaking of Christmas in July, I’d like to say HELLO to anyone who found me today coming from Kim’s Cottage In The Mitten Blog !!! Welcome to our Christmas in July Blog Hop!! Be sure and check out the end of the post for links to all of the other amazing bloggers!!!

The fire pit was an easy DIY!!

We just finished building a new gazebo from @sunjoylife . You can read all about that HERE!!! They are having huge sales on gazeebos right now! You can always use my discount code SHILOH for 13% off too!

We decided that a fire pit would be a fun addition to our new gazebo area! We love to have family and friends over. The fire pit is the perfect space to enjoy a fun Christmas in July get together!! We made a DIY fire pit but @SunJoyLife has amazing deals on fire pits too!!!

An old spool end makes a great faux table top for your fire pit!!

First, start by getting yourself into the Christmas spirit by decorating your space!!! I used flannel plaid blankets and pillows, faux Christmas trees, lanterns, and logs (which you will need anyway to start a fire for s’mores!!)!! I covered our new DIY fire pit with an old wooden spool end, so it could double as a table top until we needed it. I topped it with a flannel blanket that doubles as a tablecloth.

Having any kind of fun gathering requires snacks!!! When I think of Christmas I think of popcorn garlands and hot cocoa!! Today I’ll be sharing my “Summer” version of those fun snacks!! White Chocolate Popcorn and Frozen Hot Cocoa!!! After all, it is still July!!! Oh and S’mores!! They are good any time of the year!!

I also have a great recipe for Christmas cutout cookies you can find HERE!!! This is a fun INDOOR activity you can do with the kids!!!!

Make sure you have roasting sticks to use for marshmallow roasting !!!
White Chocolate Popcorn only takes 3 ingredients!

White Chocolate Popcorn is so easy! It only takes 3 simple ingredients!!

White Chocolate Popcorn has always been a huge hit with my kids!!!

White Chocolate Popcorn

  • 2 bags of Simply Salted Microwave Popcorn
  • 2 bag of white chocolate baking chips
  • 2 Tbsp of oil
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Microwave the bags of popcorn according to directions. Lay popcorn flat onto parchment paper. Pick out the unpopped kernels if possible. Pour the white chocolate chips, and oil, into a microwave safe bowl. Stir. Cook in 30 second intervals, stirring between each time, until the chips are completely melted. Pour the melted chocolate over the popped popcorn. Sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles!!! Let the popcorn dry completely before placing it into a bowl.

This recipe is great for any occasion!!! Just add whatever sprinkles match your theme!!

A frozen drink will definitely cool you off in July!!

Frozen Hot Cocoa

  • 3 1/2 cups of ice
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 Tbsp of vanilla
  • 4 pkgs of hot cocoa mix
  • 2 Tbsp. Ghirardelli chocolate syrup plus extra for drizzling
  • RediWhip whip cream and sprinkles for topping

Place your mugs into a freezer to chill. Put all of the ingredients into the blender. Blend until ice is no longer in large chunks. Drizzle some of the Chocolate Syrup around the inside of your mug. Pour the frozen hot cocoa into the frozen mug. Top with Whip cream, sprinkles, and more chocolate syrup!!

S’mores are good any time of the year! Plus, the ingredients look so festive in large glass jars!! All you need are graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate bars, and a fire. The fire will just add to the Christmas ambience!!!

Don’t have a fire pit!? No problem!!! Check out my DIY S’mores Tabletop Cooking Station HERE!!!

Everything looks cuter in a glass jar!!

The next time you’re thinking that the 4th of July is the last bit of fun you can have during your Summer break….think again!!! Try a Christmas in July party !!!! It’s sure to cool everyone down and bring the fun back into those hot summer days!
