How to Grow your Pinterest

I love Pinterest. I’ve used it since it’s inception way back in 2010. Whether it’s new living room inspiration, planning the girls’ Halloween costumes, or figuring out what I’m cooking for dinner tonight, I’m going on Pinterest to find it! I LOVE Pinterest!!! One thing I didn’t expect to love about Pinterest (but that I’m super grateful for!!!) is that it’s also really good for business!!! Pinterest has been great for driving traffic to this very blog:) Using this super simple Pinterest strategy I’m sharing today, I was able to grow my Pinterest monthly viewers 100K in just one month. And that number could have been way bigger if I had put my nose to the ground sooner. Really!!! You can do it too and see real results fast. So, let’s waste no more time;) Here are 5 simple steps to grow your Pinterest account now.

One of my most popular pins!:)

5 Steps to Grow Your Pinterest

  1. Create a business account
    1. Just like Instagram, there are personal and business accounts on Pinterest.
    2. The business accounts get those cool headers:)
  2. Create fresh content
    1. Pinterest has an algorithm much like Instagram’s; it features the newest content first.
    2. I use Picmonkey to create all of my pins! They have a free trial, and after that it’s only $7.99/month!
  3. Pin that super cute fresh content at regular intervals
    1. Much like anything else in life, ladies, the key is consistency. You HAVE to be consistent with this. You will see results and see them fast, but you need to pin is 3-5 pins every day.
      1. ps- I use Tailwind to schedule my pins! It’s SUPER helpful!!!
  4. Join group Pinterest boards
  5. Watch your numbers rise:)
Another very popular pin created on Picmonkey:)

Is anybody else obsessed with the Goal Digger Podcast? Dempsey and I LOVE Jenna Kutcher, the host of the podcast! She has a great episode on this very topic! It’s a relatively short one; give it a listen!:) She also gives a code for $30 off a subscription!!!

Think about it, Pinterest isn’t really a social media platform. It’s more of a search engine! Sometimes I just scroll, but a lot of times (especially when I’ve got a hungry family who wants dinner NOW) I just type whatever I need into the search bar and let Pinterest tell me what the best recipe is for that dish or what the cutest new farmhouse living room style is. Switching your mindset from social media platform to search engine is really the first step in Pinterest success:) (Looking at how other designed their pins also gives you an idea of how to design your’s, but I’ll have a whole other blog post on how to create pins soon!)

And that’s all folks!

And that’s it!!! Honestly! Creating new content and pinning it consistently are the biggest game changers for Pinterest. When we started the blog in May, my Pinterest monthly viewers was at 22K. It’s now at 142K and growing everyday. (This is in large part due to Dempsey doing a little research and consistently creating pins. She is the tech one here. Reach out to her for any more questions!) I’d love to hear how Pinterest helps your business or just what you’re loving on Pinterest right now! πŸ™‚
