Hi,Everybody!  I’m Jenn! I’m the crazy chicken lady behind Down Shiloh Road. Please take my *possibly dirty* hand as I turn “junk” into treasures, plant lots of flowers, feed some animals, make that recipe and/or make the most of my tiny home! And, if we get messy along the way, a little dirt don’t hurt;)

PROOF YOU DON’T HAVE TO DECORATE THE WHOLE ROOM TO PROOF YOU DON’T HAVE TO DECORATE THE WHOLE ROOM TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE FALL. 🍂

Sometimes fall doesn’t need to take over the whole house.

Give me one little nook, an old pie safe, a few worn kitchen pieces, dried bits from the garden and a pumpkin or two…and I’m happy. 😆

I think these little nooks are actually my favorite ones to change with the seasons. Nothing fancy, nothing really “new” — just moving around the things I already love until the corner feels like fall. 🤗

And apparently I will forever believe there is room for one more tiny cupboard. Small pie safe from antiquefarmhouse !!! 🤎

If you’re running low on time to decorate for fall, decorating one little nook is a great way to still celebrate the season without dragging out all of the Rubbermaids. 🤣

Did you spot the dried pumpkin stems ????

A LITTLE FALL PANTRY REFRESH….. although “little” A LITTLE FALL PANTRY REFRESH…..
although “little” might be stretching it. 😂🍂

I changed everything around and brought in all those warm, cozy fall tones I love — old crocks, worn wood, baskets, pumpkins, and all the collected pieces that make this space feel like me.

The plaid pumpkins, pretty stems spilling out of the crock and the wheat hanging on the side are from antiquefarmhouse 's CORNFIELDS & CANDLELIGHT COLLECTION, and they blended in so perfectly with everything I already had.

This might be one of my favorite versions of this pantry yet. 🤎

THIS IS DANGEROUS!!!! 🙈 I have a feeling this who THIS IS DANGEROUS!!!! 🙈

I have a feeling this whole “becoming an antique vendor” thing may be slightly dangerous. 😂

Because apparently I’m supposed to sell things in my booth…not walk around roseblockantiques finding everything I want to bring home. 🤣🙌

Here are a few things currently threatening my future booth profits. 🤑

Which one would take your money first? 😍

THERE'S MORE UPSTAIRS......🤗 You know how every a THERE'S MORE UPSTAIRS......🤗

You know how every antique mall says, “There’s more upstairs”? Well… apparently now I’m part of "the more upstairs". 🤣

After years of dragging vintage finds home, setting up at occasional markets, and saying “I really don't need another project”… Down Shiloh Road is getting a little antique booth roseblockantiques in Harrisburg, Illinois.

Sometimes the right opportunity shows up at the right time. And apparently that means I've spent the last two days digging through hot storage buildings in 100° weather to drag home treasures. 🥵

I'll be taking you along while Josh and I turn an empty little upstairs 1/2 booth space into something that feels like Down Shiloh Road — old wood, primitive pieces, baskets, garden finds, handmade things and whatever else I can't leave behind.🤗

There really is more upstairs. 🤎

👉 Tell me what you would LOVE to see in the booth??

SOMETIMES FALL IS A COLOR.... NOT A PUMPKIN 🍂 Fal SOMETIMES FALL IS A COLOR.... NOT A PUMPKIN 🍂

Fall decorating doesn’t always have to mean adding fall decor. 🤎

Sometimes I think we get so caught up in bringing out the pumpkins and leaves that we forget one of the easiest ways to change a room for the season is simply through color.😁

This little peg rack stays here all year. But for fall, I pulled together things I already had in warm shades of cream, brown, faded mustard and natural linen. I added a few dried stems, and suddenly the whole corner felt like autumn—without adding a single pumpkin. I did however add that old clothespin holder that I just bought recently!! Remember that find!? 😍🙌

I LOVE THAT because.......sometimes decorating REALLY can be that SIMPLE!!!🤗

Look around your house for the things that already give you a place to display something—a peg rack, hooks, a chair, an open shelf, a basket—and instead of asking “What fall decor can I put here?” try asking:
“What colors would make this feel like fall?” 🤔

Sometimes that little shift is all it takes. 🤎

A LITTLE AUTUMN GATHERED AROUND THE TABLE. 🍂 Some A LITTLE AUTUMN GATHERED AROUND THE TABLE. 🍂

Sometimes it really is the simplest changes that make a space feel ready for a new season.

I styled these two beautiful pumpkins from Antique Farmhouse with a few things I already had — dried corn, bittersweet, an old breadboard and wooden butter paddle — for an easy little fall centerpiece.

You can find both pumpkins featured today in Antique Farmhouse’s CORNFIELDS & CANDLELIGHT event. 🤎

I love fall decorating that doesn’t have to be complicated… just a few warm, collected touches can completely change a space. 🤗

BTW - the texture on these pumpkins is chef's kiss!!! 🤌

JUST A FEW OLD KEEPSAKES… 🤎 I think that might be JUST A FEW OLD KEEPSAKES… 🤎

I think that might be my favorite way to decorate.
An old stack of stools. A worn basket. Dried gourds saved from another season. Old dishes, rusty lanterns, pieces picked up here and there—and somehow they all find their way together. 🤗

I added just a few touches of fall to this old cabinet, including the beautiful dried oat bundles and wispy oat wreath from Antique Farmhouse, and I love how they look mixed in with all of my old things.😍

Nothing too perfect. Nothing too new. Just layers of texture, warm autumn color and pieces that look like they have a story to tell. 🍂

Because around here, the things that have been around awhile usually end up being my favorites. 🤎

THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS I COULD SPEND $171 ON… THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS I COULD SPEND
 $171 ON… 😂🤎

And if you know me, an antique store is probably pretty high on that list.

But the older I get, the more I realize that one of the best things I can invest in is my own health.

That’s why I wanted to share lifelinescreening and their OneLife annual membership with you.

OneLife is designed to make preventive health something you stay on top of year after year, instead of something you do once and forget about. It includes Life Line Screening’s standard stroke and heart disease risk screenings, plus additional health screenings throughout the year.

And one thing that really stood out to me is the value — OneLife is the same price as their standard screening package, but you get more screenings included.

The screenings are simple and non-invasive, and they can help identify certain health risks before there are obvious symptoms. Some of these screenings also aren’t necessarily part of a routine doctor’s visit, which is another reason I like the idea of being proactive.

Because ultimately, I want as many healthy years as possible to keep doing all the things I love… including wandering antique stores looking for treasures. 😂🤎

The OneLife membership is $186, and with my code OLcottage15, you’ll save $15, bringing it to $171.

Use code OLcottage15 at LifeLineScreening.com.

IT'S "PUT A PUMPKIN ON IT" SEASON!! 😅🙌 And appare IT'S "PUT A PUMPKIN ON IT" SEASON!! 😅🙌

And apparently, fill a pumpkin season too. 😂🍂

These pumpkin vessels from antiquefarmhouse are such fun pieces because there are SO many ways you could style them. 🤎🙌

I filled mine with some of my favorite fall things — bittersweet and dried Indian corn — but I can already picture them filled with dried gourds, wheat, hydrangeas, wooden spoons, rolling pins, old fabric scraps… you could change them up all season long. 🤎🤗

Of course, I had to mix them in with an old bread board and a few collected things because around here, new pieces always seem to find their way in among the old. 🤎

Okay, now I want to hear your ideas…

What would YOU fill these pumpkins with? 🎃
