Corn Husk Wreath

I love a natural look!! If I can make something for FREE then I’m excited!! That’s why I love this old fashioned corn husk wreath.

Harvesting time.

My farm is surrounded by corn fields. When the farmers are done harvesting the fields I like to walk the fields and collect the disguarded husks.

Supplies:

  • Wire hanger
  • Corn husks
  • Jute rope
  • Small trash bag to collect the husks
    • You’ll want to collect enough husks to fields this bag

1. First, you’ll bend your wire hanger into a circular shape.

2. Next, you’ll take one husk and place the hard stem part onto the wire hanger.

3. Then, you’ll use your jute rope and wrap it in an “X” pattern at the base of the husk and around the wire hanger. You can find a short video of this process HERE on my Instagram Highlights.

4. Once you’ve finished one husk just add the next husk and bunch them tight together. Keep working your way around the wreath.

This is Dolly.

**This wreath was made by my co-worker and bestie @dreamsofaprimitivelife .

This corn husk wreath can be used in so many ways!! Hang it on an open hutch door, your front door, or on a peg rack!! You can even use it as a centerpiece, just add something to the middle!! I love the texture it adds to any space.

The hook at the top of the wire hanger makes it easy to hang.
